Frequently asked questions
A plan that runs from the day your pay lands to the day before your next one, whether that is weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly or monthly. Everything in it, bills due before the next pay, goals you have set aside and what you have spent, adds up to one figure: what is safe to spend until then.
Yes. A linked bank goes through Akahu, the open banking service the banks themselves work with, so Pay Plan never sees your banking password. You can disconnect a bank at any time, and typing your budget in by hand instead works just as well.
ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Kiwibank, Westpac and TSB connect through Akahu today. Any bank not on that list can still be used with Pay Plan by entering transactions manually.
Nothing you have entered is deleted. Plus and Household features switch off, and bank connections pause for 14 days, then disconnect, and their accounts become ones you update by hand. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
Only if you turn it on, and only your own plan: what you earn, what you have set aside and what you have spent. It gives general budgeting information about the money you already have, never recommends a bank, an insurer or a loan, and every change it proposes waits for you to confirm it.
From Settings inside the app. Deleting an account purges your information within thirty days, other than anything New Zealand law requires Pay Plan to keep for longer.
Yes. Free is a real plan you can stay on, with manual accounts, one budget, and every report and export. The pricing page has what each plan includes.
Yes. Up to six people share one budget, each with their own view of it, and bills can split evenly or by a fair share of what each person earns. A Household plan gives everyone in it Plus, paid by the budget's owner.
