Pay Plan

One number. Safe to spend.

Your pay lands. Rent, power and your goals are set aside before you see a cent. What is left is yours until the next pay day, and Pay Plan shows you that figure every day.

Fortnightly Thursdays, weekly Wednesdays, the 20th of the month. The plan follows your pay cycle, not the calendar month, and the strip counts down to the next one.

Goals, a pay at a time

Give a goal an amount and a date. Pay Plan works out what to set aside each pay and takes it off before safe to spend, so a holiday or a bike is planned rather than hoped for. Goals are on Plus.

Irregular income

Contract, shift or invoice work. Pay yourself a steady amount each cycle from an income buffer, with a percentage kept aside for tax, so a good month carries a quiet one.

What is worth a look, before it costs you.

Each night, and after each bank sync, Pay Plan checks your plan and transactions. Anything worth knowing appears as a card on your home screen, and Penny can explain it.

  • Budget at risk

Bills need more than is left

Three unpaid bills come to $612.00. That is $140.00 more than you have until pay day.

  • Subscriptions

    You pay for 3 subscriptions

They come to $52.97 a month. All of them are streaming.

  • Price rise

    Your gym went up

It is now $24.99, up $2.00 (9%) on the usual $22.99.

Scenarios

Rent is due before you are paid.

Your pay lands on a Thursday and rent comes out every Monday. Pay Plan sets both rents aside the day your pay arrives, so neither is ever counted as safe to spend.

Bills due before the next pay count against this one, and yearly bills take a share each pay. A bill due after pay day is the next cycle's.

Two pays, different weeks, one plan.

Tama is paid on a Thursday and Jess the following Wednesday. The budget follows one pay cycle, and Jess's pay shows on the strip the day it lands.

Each of you chooses which accounts feed the shared budget. The rest stay private.

Paid when the invoice is paid.

No pay day to anchor to, so the plan runs on calendar months. Each invoice goes into your income buffer after a percentage is kept aside for tax, and each month you are paid a steady amount from the buffer.

If the buffer is running low, Pay Plan says so before the month starts.
